Any Adobe Commerce Agency can promise the world, but whether they deliver on this promise is a separate matter. Sadly, this was a reality for Citizen, who were struggling to find an Adobe Commerce Partner that could deliver the eCommerce solutions they needed to enter the next phase of their growth.
As a brand who’d become recognised as a leader in the watch industry and a trusted name for design excellence and craftsmanship, Citizen needed to find an Adobe Commerce Agency with whom they could build a long-term partnership with based on shared values and ways of working. In came Foundation Commerce. Having found us on Google and being impressed by our approach, they reached out to arrange a discovery meeting.
What We Uncovered
With the customer at the heart of their brand, Citizen was keen to up its game when it came to shopper experience but was faced by a number of issues due to their existing eCommerce stack. An audit revealed that poor site speed was causing major problems, and this meant the site did not pass Google’s Core Web Vitals – a must in the eCommerce industry. Usability was also a cause for concern with the website being very difficult to operate from a mobile device. With mobile being the most frequent devices used by their customers it was important that the user experience was improved.
Frustrated by their site not demonstrating their commitment to their loyal customer base, Citizen was desperate to get a complete site modification, but were cautious about rushing into recommendations due to being burnt in the past.
One step at a time approach
First things first, we knew we had to demonstrate, not just say, that we were a partner they could rely on. So, in line with our six-step process for ecommerce success, we began with a series of discovery meetings, building up trust with the Citizen team by talking through the various eCommerce solutions on the market and getting to understand their business goals, objectives and technical requirements, before even presenting an official proposal. This meant when we presented a solution specification, it was based on an actual solution that would drive positive results.
Advocates for Hyva Themes, we knew based on the client’s brief that this front-end framework was the answer. But Citizen needed more than our word for it. So, we showed them the reasons why other platforms wouldn’t meet their needs before presenting Hyva Themes as a solution.
Our team of in-house UX designers designed their new site with a completely new look and feel in mind, and our in-house Magento 2 development experts brought it to life.
Within 3 months we delivered Citizen a brand-new frontend which:
- Passed Google’s Core Web Vitals with pages loading in approximately 1 second
- Had a completely new modern look and feel
- Nailed it when it came to user experience – especially on mobile devices
